July 13 – Review by Stefan – MY HEAVY MEMORY – CLARITY (Independent / Pure Steel Promotion)

Out of Livermore, California USA and originally created under the name, “Killdera”, the honor is mine to present the new album of My Heavy Memory entitled “Clarity”. It’s the follow up to their EP that’d been loaded with five songs, released as an independent article back in 2013. I had never heard of MHM so I was assigned to do some research. According to what I’ve found it would be about a Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band from the Bay Area, my curiosity was untenable and I immediately started listening to the 8 new songs. Signing a worldwide deal with Pure Steel Promotion these five musicians know how to get my full attention because of their strong musical approach !

During a playing time of 33:18 minutes I witness a portion of well written compositions that will appeal to both Hard Rock and fans of Heavy Metal. We can dive back in time with this new album, more specifically to the early nineties, on a regular basis the band also treats us to a more contemporary Heavy Rock tradition. Personally, I think MHM has a typical American sound that is far removed from a European character; I am absolutely not mourning this for the moment.
