July 19 – Review by Holger B. – SANCTUM – BELIEVERS (Arkeyn Steel Records)

 The 1991 first press of the Sanctum EP “Believers” is one of the most sought after and thus also one of the most expensive own pressings that a US Metal fan can fall in love with. Many collectors who like bands like Queensryche, Lethal, Drive or Hittman have been hunting for this jewel for years and then had to cut their sails and give up. A seemingly hopeless endeavor to find the part somewhere.

The Arkeyn Steel label is now putting an end to this, because they have taken on the matter and not only released a new edition of the EP, but also excellently re-mastered it and expanded it by a whole seven songs. The cover has been changed slightly and i like it even better than the original one. It doesn’t happen that often either. In addition to the original tracks, there are also seven really worth listening demo tracks or home recordings from 1987 to 1992. Almost all of them still with the former singer Bob Maass. Although he can’t quite keep up with his successor, he still does a good job on the micro. But more on that in a moment. READ MORE…
