June 24 – Review by Stefan – NINTH CIRCLE – ECHO BLACK (Pure Underground Records / Soulfood)

Formed in 1996, LA California based Ninth Circle has totally surprised me with their fourth full-length “Echo Black”. An American trio who highly values the term Metal, this first meeting immediately appealed to me. Three other efforts, “Ninth Circle” (2000), “The Power Of One” and “Legions Of The Brave” (2014) have preceded this new album, none of which I have in my possession and will certainly be looking to collect these asap.

I am devoted to US Metal and as soon as I read on the info sheet these guys bringing my favorite style of music forward I could not restrain myself to submit the album to a first listening session. First of all I want to inform you that the cover artwork looks very dark, actually fantastic and regarding the sound quality, I can only be pleased. The duration shows a little more than 57 minutes. Let me say that the total packaging, all included, adopts a very professional profile which also plays an important role for me. If it looks good it will sound good in most cases, and as far as Ninth Circle is concerned, this phrase is right folks. READ MORE…
